FAQ

What is the difference between the Resurrection House and Life Skills Institute?

The Resurrection House is a 3 week to 3-month program designed to give people shelter while looking for work and then being able to gain permanent shelter after they have obtained a job. Life Skills Institute is a long-term program designed to give anyone a second chance. Whether it be someone getting back on their feet from the shelter to someone who has just had some financial struggles and needs a life skills program to get them the help they need.

Does it cost to attend the program?

The Resurrection House does not cost initially, but once a job is obtained, residents will pay a small weekly fee to stay. L.S.I. (Life Skills Institute) has a monthly fee required in order to stay.

How does room and board work?

At the Resurrection House rooms are in a dorm setting. Residents receive food, shelter and are required to attend nightly classes and attend church, unless employment interferes.

Life Skills Institute provides residents their own room with water, electricity, wi-fi and are provided three meals a day. LSI residents will be required to go to church and do community service.

Do residents have to attend a certain church?

Residents can attend whatever church they desire to go to with required signatures from the Pastor or Deacon/Elder with available contact info. If a resident does not have a home church or preference, transportation is provided to Southern Hills Baptist Church or Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha, OK.
